Chocolate-covered fruit recipe

There’s no sweet treat quite like chocolate-covered fruit.


This recipe from A Gouda Life is incredibly simple, and it works with a whole range of fruit, from strawberries, raspberries and bananas, to pineapple, grapes and oranges.


You can even add extra toppings like nuts, sprinkles, pretzels, sea salt, and much more.

Ingredients

450g chocolate

900g fruit - we recommend using banana, pineapple, grapes and oranges

Preparation

  1. Prepare the fruit - wash and dry the grapes, peel and slice the banana, peel and chop the pineapple, and remove the segments from the orange.

  2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  3. Put all the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, then put it in the microwave. Heat it for 30 seconds, then take out the bowl and stir. Put it in for another few seconds, then stir again. Keep going at short intervals until the chocolate has melted - don’t let it burn.

  4. Once the chocolate has melted, remove the bowl. Put a piece of fruit on a fork and dip it in the chocolate. Swirl, then put it on the baking tray.

  5. If you like, quickly sprinkle it with any additional toppings (e.g. chopped nuts, sprinkles, crushed pretzels, sea salt etc.).

  6. Once all the fruit is covered, put the tray in the fridge and leave for at least 30 minutes to chill and harden.



Tips

To store: We recommend eating this chocolate-covered fruit within the first 48 hours, but they can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Vegan: To make this dish vegan, we recommend using vegan-friendly chocolate.
